Inmate Property Intake

Upon admission into the Callaway County Jail, an inmate's personal property is inventoried and secured within a sealed inmate property bag. Any illegal items will be seized for criminal investigation and referral to the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney for applicable criminal charges. Personal clothing belonging to an inmate will NOT be released absent special circumstance as approved by the Jail Administrator or Jail Lieutenants.

Any item that may be used as a weapon will be transferred to the arresting officer, if not a member of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, or the Callaway County Sheriff's Office Property and Evidence Function, if the arrest was made by a member of the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.  Inmates will be required to contact the Callaway County Sheriff's Office Evidence Custodian after their release from custody.

Debit and credit cards may be released to an attorney or bondsperson upon completion of the property release form. Once released, such items will not be accepted back into the jail.
