Investigations lead to separate arrests for child sexual abuse and felony controlled substance

SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATIONS LEAD TO CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AND FELONY DRUG ARRESTS

Arrested person information:

Carl Martin Jr., 38, of Millersburg

Jesse De La Cruz, 31, of Holts Summit

Narrative:

On December 3, 2019, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Carl Martin Jr., 38, of Millersburg with the felony offense of Attempted Child Molestation 2nd (child less than 12 years of age).  The charge was filed after a criminal investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office in the Millersburg area, which investigation began in November, 2019.  Martin was arrested by deputies and remains in the Callaway County Jail without bond, pending further Court review.

On December 3, 2019, at approximately 2:33 PM, a Callaway County deputy was proactively patrolling the Holts Summit area.  During the patrol, the deputy stopped a vehicle in the area of State Road AA for a traffic violation.  Jesse De La Cruz, 31, of Holts Summit was arrested for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  De La Cruz was booked/processed at the Callaway County Jail and later released with summons for Court appearance.
