DEPUTIES MAKE FELONY ARRESTS FOR AN ARRAY OF OFFENSES INCLUDING FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, FAIL TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER, AND INTERFERENCE WITH CUSTODY

Amanda Rathburn, 28, of Jefferson City, MO
On February 17, 2020, at approximately 12:01 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a criminal investigation at a residence on County Road 449, adjacent to State Road CC, in the Steedman area. As a result of the investigation, Kimberly Rand, 34, of Jefferson City was arrested for Unlawful Possession (felon in possession) of a Firearm. Rand is currently being held in the Callaway County Jail on $10,000 bond.
On February 15, 2020, at approximately 9:34 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a criminal investigation on Windy Meadows Lane, adjacent to State Road F. During the course of the investigation, deputies located Nicholas White, 42, of Fulton at a residence. White was wanted reference two Callaway County felony warrants for Fail to Register as a Sex Offender. The initial registration violations had been investigated by the Sheriff’s Office. White was arrested, transported, and booked/processed at the Callaway County Jail. White is being held on $10,000 bond.
On February 12, 2020, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Jerry Bateman, 42, of Holts Summit and Amanda Rathburn, 28, of Jefferson City with the felony offense of Interference with Custody (Removed from State or Concealed). The charge is the result of a criminal investigation conducted by Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies regarding the unlawful removal of a child from a location near Calwood. The child was ultimately found safe in Johnson County, MO by authorities there. Bateman and Rathburn were also located and arrested in Johnson County. Callaway County investigators traveled there and took custody of the pair. Both were booked/processed at the Callaway County Jail and placed on $5,000 bond. Bateman later posted bond and was released. Rathburn remains in-custody.
