Deputies arrest state parole violator for stolen vehicle warrant after investigation outside Holts Summit

DEPUTIES ARREST STATE PAROLE VIOLATOR NEAR HOLTS SUMMIT FOR STOLEN VEHICLE RELATED WARRANT

Arrested person information:  

Gregory Murphy, 32, of Jefferson City

Narrative:

On January 23, 2020, at approximately 11:21 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a fugitive investigation in the 1300 block of Branch Road near Holts Summit.  Deputies had developed information that Gregory Murphy, 32, of Jefferson City, was present in the area.  Murphy — a MDOC state parole violator — was wanted reference a felony St. Charles County warrant for Stealing a Motor Vehicle.

During the investigation, Murphy was subsequently located inside a residence and taken into custody without incident.  Murphy was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held without bond pending transfer to St. Charles County or MDOC.

At the time of Murphy’s arrest, he was under the supervision of the MDOC – Board of Probation and Parole for Burglary 1st.
