Date:  July 19, 2017

Arrested person information:

Kahlie Korte, 29, of Wright City, MO

Jason Evans, 37, of Warrenton, MO

Reporting officer:  Lt. Curtis Hall

On July 19, 2017 at approximately 9:12 a.m., Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Wright Brothers’ Store on State Road Z in Calwood (outside of Fulton).  Employees of the business reported a female subject attempting to flee the parking lot in a vehicle after refusing to pay for fuel.

Deputies located the suspect vehicle, which did ultimately flee from the business, traveling in the 6600 block of State Road Z east of Fulton and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.  As the vehicle stopped, a male passenger fled from the vehicle and deputies pursued the male briefly on-foot before taking him into custody.  The male originally provided a false name and a driver’s license that did not belong to him.  The male subject was eventually identified as Jason Evans.  A computer check determined that Evans had two no bond St. Charles FELONY warrants for Narcotics Possession.

Deputies arrested the driver, identified as Kahlie Korte, for the Stealing Motor Fuel and for an outstanding Warren County FELONY warrant for Endangering the Welfare of a Child 1st Degree.

During a search of the vehicle, several different types of drug paraphernalia were located.

Both Korte and Evans were transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Upon arrival at the jail, Evans was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.  Evans remains in the Callaway County County Jail on NO BOND for charges of Resisting Arrest for a Felony, Identify Theft, and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Corrections Facility, in addition to the St. Charles County warrant.

Korte remains in the Callaway County Jail on a bond of $11,700.00 for  charges of Stealing Motor Fuel, Driving While Suspended, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, two counts of Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia, and Displaying Plates of Another Person, in addition to the Warren County warrant.

The Fulton Police Department assisted with this investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.

End of press release.
