Wanted fugitive arrested after attempting to deceive deputy with false name

Justin Rothove, 28, of Portland


On February 6, 2018 at approximately 12:16 p.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle in the area of County Road 133 and State Road O near Steedman.  During the investigation, deputies contacted a male subject who originally provided a false name to deceive the deputy.   After further investigation, deputies eventually determined the male to be Justin Rothove, a wanted felon fugitive.

Rothove was subsequently arrested on two Callaway County warrants – original charges of Felony  Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Stealing Motor Fuel.  Rothove was further wanted reference a Boone County warrant for Possession of a Controlled substance.  Rothove was released to the Callaway County Jail for a total court-set bond of $6,193.50, of which $5,393.50 is cash only.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
