Two arrested after traffic stop involving stolen vehicle

Narrative: 

On May 23, 2017 at 8:06 p.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was traveling State Road HH northwest of Fulton.  The deputy observed a southbound vehicle being operated by Andrea Martin, 41, of Columbia.  The deputy knew that Martin was a wanted fugitive out of Callaway and Montgomery counties for felony stealing charges.  The deputy conducted a registration check on the observed vehicle and determined it to be stolen out of Columbia, MO.

Several Callaway County deputies, Fulton Police Department officers, and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers converged on the area.  Once the suspect vehicle neared Fulton, it turned onto County Road 204 and a traffic stop was initiated.  Upon stop, there were four subjects in the vehicle, all of whom were detained pending further investigation.

Subsequently, the driver, Andrea Martin, and a passenger, Robert Gibson, 41, of Columbia, were arrested.  The other two subjects were later released with no charges.  Both Martin and Gibson were transported to the Callaway County Jail where they remain pending bond posting.  Charges / bonds as follows:

Andrea Martin – Felony Callaway County warrant, Felony Montgomery County warrant, and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st; bond of $47,500.00.

Robert Gibson – Possession of an Illegal Weapon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; bond of $1,000.00.

The investigation is ongoing and NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
