Two arrested after early morning traffic stop

On August 3, 2017 at approximately 3:30 a.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling Old Highway 54 north of Holts Summit.  During the patrol, the deputy stopped a vehicle driven by Ryan Kirk, 23, of New Bloomfield for a traffic violation.  Samantha Evers, 32, of Holts Summit was a vehicle passenger.  During the course of the traffic stop, both Kirk and Evers were subsequently arrested.

Kirk was arrested for Felony Stealing and Driving While Suspended.  The stealing charge was the result of a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigation of a theft that occurred at a New Bloomfield business on August 1, 2017.   During the traffic stop, Evers was found to possess methamphetamine, thus for, was arrested for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Kirk and Evers were both transported to the Callaway County Jail where they later posted respective court-set bonds of $2,000.00 and $4,500.00.
