Narrative:

On May 25, 2020, at approximately 6:11 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies – assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol – responded to an active disturbance in the 4000 block of County Road 4006 in the Tebbetts / Holts Summit area.  Responding officers were alerted to the fact the suspect, later identified as Charles Buenida, 18, of Tebbetts, MO, was armed and had fired shots during the course of the disturbance.

Upon the arrival of deputies and troopers to the residence, they encountered Buendia who remained armed with a rifle.  An approximate 50 minute stand-off ensued, leading to Buendia ultimately surrendering.  Buendia was arrested and ultimately transported to a local (secure) medical facility, pending later transfer to the Callaway County Jail.

The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney subsequently charged Buendia with felony charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon (two counts), Property Damage, and Stealing.  The subsequent arrest warrant orders that Buendia be held without bond, pending later Court bond review.
