Parole absconder arrested during Holts Summit traffic stop

DOC PAROLE VIOLATOR ARRESTED DURING SHERIFF’S OFFICE TRAFFIC STOP IN HOLTS SUMMIT

Arrested person information: 

Dustin Higgins, 28, of Fulton

Narrative: 

On February 18, 2018 at 8:40 PM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling the Holts Summit area.  During the patrol, the deputy stopped a vehicle on East Simon Drive in Holts Summit for a vehicle registration violation.  During the stop investigation, the deputy came into contact with Dustin Higgins, 28, of Fulton.  It was determined that Higgins was wanted by the Missouri Department of Corrections for a Parole Violation.

Higgins was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Higgins is being held without bond, per the warrant, and will be returned to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
