Lake Ozark woman charged with drug trafficking after deputies, assisted by K9 Krieger, locate 5.5 pounds of methamphetamine during traffic stop

LAKE OZARK WOMAN CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING 5 ½ POUNDS OF METHAMPHETAMINE THROUGH CALLAWAY COUNTY

Andrea Owens, 42, of Lake Ozark, MO

Narrative: 

On June 22, 2020, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Andrea Owens, 42, of Lake Ozark, MO with the felony offenses of Trafficking Drugs and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Owens is being held without bond at the Callaway County Jail pending later Court bond review per Judge’s order.

On June 21, 2020, at approximately 9:40 AM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit (K9 Krieger) stopped Owens for a traffic violation on US Highway 54 near the State Road HH in Fulton.  During the course of the investigation, 5 ½ pounds of methamphetamine – in addition to other felony controlled substances – was located in the vehicle.

The street value of the recovered methamphetamine is over $300,000.

The criminal investigation concerning this matter is ongoing and involves the Cole County Sheriff’s Office, Miller County Sheriff’s Office, MUSTANG drug task force, Mid-MO drug task force, and federal law enforcement agents.
