Kingdom City man arrested after 475 marijuana plants and 54 pounds of marijuana located during narcotics investigation.

On July 17, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office arrested Billy Garrett, 64, of Kingdom City at his property located on Harrison Creek Drive, near County Road 156, in northeast Callaway County.  Garrett was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail for Felony Trafficking Drugs 1st degree.  Garrett later posted bond and was released pending court appearance.

The arrest was the result of a narcotics investigation initiated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and assisted by the MUSTANG drug task force.  On July 17, 2017, as a result of the extensive investigation, 475 marijuana plants were located and recovered from an active outdoor marijuana grow operation on the Harrison Creek Drive property.  Furthermore, approximately 54 lbs. of processed / packaged marijuana were located inside Garrett’s residence on the same property.   The street value of the recovered items is approximately $794,000.00.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
