Holts Summit man arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, loaded firearm while intoxicated

On September 10, 2017 at 7:09 p.m., Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 2900 block of State Road MM west of New Bloomfield for multiple reports of shots fired from a vehicle.  During the investigation, deputies obtained a vehicle and suspect description.

At 7:55 p.m., Callaway County deputies located the suspect vehicle traveling in the 10000 block of Old Highway 54 north of Holts Summit and stopped the vehicle.  A passenger in the vehicle, Kenneth Peiter, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a loaded weapon, along with evidence that the weapon had recently been fired.

Peiter was taken into custody and taken to the Callaway County Jail on a charge of Unlawful Use of a Firearm while Intoxicated.  Peiter remains in custody at the Callaway County Jail on a bond of $1,500.00.

Peiter was also recently arrested for Assault 4th during an unrelated physical disturbance at Wildwood Estates, east of Fulton, on September 3, 2017.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
