Holts Summit man arrested after deputies investigate disturbance involving a weapon

DISTURBANCE INVOLVING WEAPONS NEAR HOLTS SUMMIT LEADS TO CRIMINAL CHARGE

Donald Spears, 54, of Holts Summit

On February 18, 2018, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Donald Spears, 54, of Holts Summit with the FELONY offense of Unlawful Use of a Weapon Motivated by Discrimination.   Spears was arrested by Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies and later posted a COURT SET bond of $25,000.00 and was released pending court appearance.

The charges are the result of a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigation conducted in the Winterwood neighborhood, located just outside of Holts Summit, on February 18, 2018.  On that date, at 12:27 AM, Callaway County deputies responded to a reported disturbance involving a firearm.  During the investigation, a firearm was recovered and Spears was identified as the suspect.

The Holts Summit Police Department assisted with the scene investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
