Fulton man arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of illegal weapon after traffic stop reveals guns and a silencer

On February 12, 2018 at approximately 4:46 p.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed Brett Welsh, whom he knew to have a revoked driver’s license, operating a vehicle on State Road Z near Wood Street in Fulton.  Deputies stopped the vehicle on State Road Z near North Business 54 and subsequently arrested Welsh.

During a search of Welsh’s vehicle, two firearms and a silencer were located inside the vehicle.   According to public court records, Welsh is a convicted felon, thus for, mere possession of a firearm is unlawful under state and federal law.

Welsh was transferred to the Callaway County Jail and booked / processed for several FELONY offenses; to include, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of an Illegal Weapon, and Driving While Revoked.  Welsh was released to the Callaway County Jail without bond pending a court-set bond setting by a judge.
