On June 29, 2016 at approximately 3:00 a.m., Callaway County Sheriff’s deputies were patrolling the New Bloomfield area. During the patrol, deputies observed a suspicious vehicle in the area. Deputies subsequently stopped the vehicle on US Highway 54 south of New Bloomfield and identified the driver as Andrew Barrett, 39, of Jefferson City.
Barrett was found to be a fugitive from justice in Cole County and was wanted on a Cole County felony warrant for traffic offenses. Upon Barrett’s arrest, he was found to possess narcotics based items related to methamphetamine use in the vehicle.
Barrett was arrested for the Cole County felony warrant, in addition to Callaway County probable cause charges of Felony Driving While Revoked and Unlawful Use of Paraphernalia. Barrett remains in the Callaway County Jail on $10,000.00 bond.
According to Case.net, a public resource, Barrett has several past felony convictions across Mid-Missouri for burglary, felony stealing, and receiving stolen property.
