On August 1, 2017, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 12000 block of County Road 4031 near Holts Summit in attempt to locate Zachary Fewins, 24, of Holts Summit.  At the time, Fewins was a wanted fugitive in Cole County for several felony charges to include probation violation and motor vehicle theft.

During the pursuit and struggle with Fewins, the arresting deputy was injured and subsequently transported to a local Jefferson City hospital with moderate injuries.  The deputy is expected to be released from the hospital later today.
