Deputies make multiple arrests for offenses ranging from firearm offenses to methamphetamine possession during a three day period

NUMEROUS FELONY ARRESTS MADE BY SHERIFF’S OFFICE STAFF FOR AN ARRAY OF OFFENSES INCLUDING FIREARMS RELATED ASSAULT, TERRORIST THREATS, METH POSSESSION, COUNTERFEIT MONEY POSSESSION, AND STEALING

Zachary McCarter, 26, of Fulton, MO

Steven Herndon, 54, of Holts Summit, MO

Michael Rice, 37, of Centertown, MO

Joshua Montgomery, 21, of Lake St. Louis, MO

Jordan Vaughn, 41, of Fulton, MO

Narrative:

On October 28, 2019, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Zachary McCarter, 26, of Fulton, MO with the felony offenses of Discharging a Firearm at a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Property Damage, Assault, and other misdemeanor offenses.  McCarter is being held in the Callaway County Jail without bond, pending later Court bond review.

The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office on October 26, 2019 in the 4000 block of County Road 421.  McCarter fled the scene prior to deputy arrival.  On October 27, 2019, at 6:53 p.m., deputies located McCarter in the 8000 block of State Road NN and arrested him.

On October 28, 2019, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Steven Herndon, 54, of Holts Summit with the felony offense of Terrorist Threats 2nd degree.  Herndon is being held in the Callaway County Jail without bond, pending later Court bond review.

The charge is the result of an investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office in the Fulton area on October 27, 2019.  Deputies, with the assistance of the Fulton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, subsequently located Herndon in the 700 block of Court Street and arrested him.

On October 28, 2019, at approximately 9:07 a.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling the Holts Summit area.  During the course of the patrol, the deputy stopped Michael Rice, 37, of Centertown, MO for a vehicle registration offense.  The deputy subsequently found Rice to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Rice was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Rice was booked/processed for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (meth) and Felony Driving While Revoked.  Rice later posted $3,000 bond.

On October 26, 2019, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Joshua Montgomery, 19, of Lake St. Louis, MO with the felony offense of Forgery in addition to misdemeanor weapon and drug offenses.  Montgomery remains in the Callaway County Jail pending $6,000 bond.

The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies in the 5000 block of Jade Road in Kingdom City on October 25, 2019 at 10:23 PM.  During the course of the investigation; counterfeit currency, illegal drugs, and an illegal weapon were located.

On October 25, 2019, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jordan Vaughn, 41, of Fulton for several felony offenses including Forgery, Stealing, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit/Debit Device.  The arrest was the result of an investigation, which initiated in June, 2019, concerning several fraudulent transactions conducted at businesses in the Fulton area.  Vaughn was transported to the Callaway County Jail where she later posted $17,000 bond and was released.
