Deputies make five felony arrests during proactive patrol / investigations during first weekend of April

CALLAWAY DEPUTIES NET FIVE FELONY ARRESTS DURING FIRST WEEKEND OF APRIL — PROACTIVE PATROLS AND CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE ACROSS THE COUNTY

Arrested person information:

Boyer Nichols, 38, of Holts Summit

Brandon Hughes, 22, of Fulton

Denver Newland, 19, of Fulton

Dustin Higgins, 29, of Fulton

Homer Allen, 31, of Williamsburg

Narrative:

On April 5, 2019, at 9:55 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Boyer Nichols, 38, of Holts Summit in the 3000 block of Zenith Drive, located off State Road AA outside of Holts Summit.  Nichols was wanted reference a Callaway County felony warrant – Stealing a Firearm.  Nichols was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and later released after posting a $9,000.00 bond.

On April 6, 2019, at 1:46 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Brandon Hughes, 22, of Fulton in the 3000 block of County Road 230, west of Fulton.  Subsequently, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Hughes with two counts of Felony Receiving Stolen Property.  The charges are reference an ongoing Sheriff’s Office investigation involving the theft of ATV/UTV’s in the County Road 305 area west of Fulton.  Hughes was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and is being held on a $10,000.00 bond.

On April 6, 2019, at 3:01 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Denver Newland, 19, of Fulton in the 5000 block of Hawk Lake Drive in Fulton.  Newland was wanted reference a Callaway County felony warrant – Forgery.  Newland was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and later released after posting a $4,500.00 bond.

On April 7, 2019, at 10:20 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Dustin Higgins, 29, of Fulton on County Road 259 west of Millersburg.  Higgins was wanted reference a Callaway County warrant for numerous felony charges including Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Resisting Arrest, and Driving While Revoked.  Those charges are the result of a vehicular pursuit in the Millersburg area (State Road J, County Road 334, and County Road 323) conducted by deputies on March 20, 2019.  At the time of Higgins’ arrest on April 7, 2019, he was further booked/processed for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  Higgins was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held without bond, per Judge’s order.

On April 7, 2019, at 3:49 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Homer Allen, 31, of Williamsburg on County Road 305 west of Fulton.  Subsequently, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Allen with felony offenses of Domestic Assault 3rd and Resisting Arrest.  The charges are reference an ongoing Sheriff’s Office investigation concerning a domestic disturbance near Fulton.  Upon deputies locating and attempting to arrest Allen on April 7, 2019, he fled on foot and was subsequently apprehended by deputies.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to assist.  Allen was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and is being held on a $10,000.00 bond.
