Deputies continue proactive felony arrests across Callaway County, Jefferson City man charged in 2018 shooting investigation

FELONY ARRESTS CONTINUE ACROSS THE COUNTY AS THE RESULT OF DEPUTY PROACTIVE PATROLS AND INVESTIGATIONS

JEFFERSON CITY MAN CHARGED IN 2018 SHOOTING CASE AS RESULT OF EXTENSIVE ONGOING INVESTIGATION

Narrative: 

On May 11, 2020, at approximately 2:12 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a disturbance involving the discharge of a firearm in the area of County Road 259.  During the course of the investigation, deputies subsequently arrested Brandon Inlow, 33, of Columbia, MO for felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  Inlow was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he later posted bond and was released pending Court appearance.

On May 10, 2020, at approximately 7:11 PM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling the area of County Road 2002 and County Road 279.  During the patrol, the deputy conducted a suspicious incident investigation.  During the course of the investigation, the deputy came into contact with Jared Evans, 31, of Mexico, MO.  Evans was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  Evans was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail where he was booked/processed for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and other drug offenses.  Evans later posted bond and was released pending Court appearance.

On May 9, 2020, at approximately 2:56 PM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling the area of County Road 259.  During the patrol, the deputy subsequently stopped a vehicle reference a traffic violation.  Subsequently, Allen Knapp, 32, of Columbia, MO was arrested reference a Felony Boone County warrant for violating a Court order.  Knapp was arrested and transported direct to the Boone County Jail.

On May 7, 2020, at approximately 9:46 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a criminal investigation in the 1400 block of Old Highway 40.  During the course of the investigation, deputies located Brian Stokes, 38, of Montgomery City, MO.  Stokes was wanted by the Missouri Department of Corrections (MDOC) regarding a felony level parole violation warrant.  Stokes was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Stokes was transferred to the custody of MDOC on May 11, 2020.

On May 7, 2020, at approximately 4:23 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a burglary investigation in the area of County Road 261.  During the course of the investigation, deputies subsequently arrested Anthony Dick, 50, of Auxvasse for numerous felony offenses.  Dick physically resisted arrest resulting in a deputy receiving a minor injury.  During transport to the Callaway County Jail, Dick announced he allegedly had COVID-19, purposefully coughed toward the arresting deputies, and indicated his desire for them and their families to be harmed by COVID-19 as a result.  Dick was subsequently charged by the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney with Burglary 1st, Resisting Arrest, Property Damage, and several counts of assault.  Dick remains in-custody at the Callaway County Jail pending a court-set bond of $20,000.

On May 7, 2020, at approximately 9:43 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Danial Lowe, 29, of Jefferson City, MO for the felony offenses of Assault 1st, Burglary 1st, and Armed Criminal Action.  Lowe was formally charged by the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney on that date.  The charges are the result of an extensive, ongoing criminal investigation into a shooting offense that occurred on Evergreen Drive, near State Road AA, outside of Holts Summit on August 3, 2018.  On that date, deputies responded to the area for a disturbance involving weapons in which the victim had been shot.   The investigation is ongoing and further arrests/charges are possible.

On May 5, 2020, at approximately 6:18 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a criminal investigation at a business in the 3000 block of US Highway 54 in Kingdom City.  During the course of the investigation, deputies contacted Amanda Benney, 41, of Mexico, MO.  Deputies subsequently recovered several felony level controlled substances.  Benney was arrested, transported to the Callaway County Jail, and booked/processed for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Benney later posted bond and was released pending Court-appearance.
