Deputies arrest Williamsburg man for stealing after investigating series of battery thefts from farm and construction equipment

DEPUTIES ARREST WILLIAMSBURG MAN REGARDING FARM RELATED THEFT OFFENSES

Arrested person information:

Chad Laswell, 27, of Williamsburg

Narrative:

On October 29, 2018 and November 1, 2018, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigated the theft of batteries from farm and construction equipment in the area of County Road 447 and County Road 448 — Steedman and Portland areas respectively.  Throughout the days thereafter, Sheriff’s Office deputies followed-up on investigative leads and identified Chad Laswell, 27, of Williamsburg as a suspect.

As a result of the follow-up investigation, on November 5, 2018, Laswell was arrested for Stealing and booked/processed at the Callaway County Jail.  Laswell was later released on bond pending Court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing and further arrests are possible.
