Deputies arrest fugitive in Kingdom City after multi-agency drug investigation, recover 1 pound of methamphetamine and $63,300 in cash

CALLAWAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE INVESTIGATION IN KINGDOM CITY NETS SEIZURE OF $63,000.00 CASH AND 1 LB. OF METH – WANTED FELON ARRESTED

Daniel Smith, 40, of Kingdom City

Narrative:

On November 2, 2018 at 9:00 PM, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office conducted a multi-agency felony drug investigation in the 3000 block of Gold Road in Kingdom City.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Office, the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the East Central Drug Task Force, and the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) assisted with the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, Daniel Smith, 40, of Kingdom City was apprehended.  Smith was wanted by the Missouri Department of Corrections (DOC) for felony parole violations.

At the time of Smith’s apprehension, he was found to be in possession of 1 lb. of methamphetamine, a loaded firearm, and over $63,000.00 cash — all of which was seized.

Smith was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he was booked/processed for Trafficking Drugs 1st  (Meth), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felon in Possession), Unlawful Use of a Firearm,  Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and the DOC parole warrant.  Smith is being held without bond.
