CALLAWAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DEPUTIES ARREST TWO ADDITIONAL SUSPECTS IN AUXVASSE FOR AREA THEFT OFFENSES, INCLUDING STORAGE UNIT THEFTS – SEVERAL ARTICLES OF STOLEN PROERTY AND A STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

On November 21, 2018, during the evening hours, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies continued to follow-up on area theft offenses, including the slew of theft offenses committed at storage units across the county. During the follow-up, investigators had ascertained an image of a suspect vehicle. That image was disseminated to area law enforcement.
On November 21, 2018, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper located the vehicle west of Mexico in Audrain County. Upon the state trooper making contact with the vehicle driver, Joseph Bailey, 58, of Auxvasse, numerous articles of stolen property were located within the vehicle. Joseph Bailey was arrested and transferred to the custody of Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies simultaneously responded to a residence in the 800 block of South Main Street in Auxvasse where a second suspect, Stacey Bailey, 35, of Auxvasse was arrested. Upon deputies searching the residence, numerous other articles of stolen property were located and recovered. A stolen vehicle was also recovered at the residence.
Joseph Bailey remains in custody at the Callaway County Jail for probable cause felony offenses of Burglary, Stealing, and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Joseph Bailey is being held without bond pending a Court bond setting.
Stacey Bailey remains in custody at the Callaway County Jail for probable cause offenses of Burglary, Stealing, and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle. Stacey Bailey is being held on a *court set* bond of $13,500.00.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office continue its investigation into the aforementioned theft offenses, in conjunction with the Fulton Police Department, the Holts Summit Police Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. **Five arrests have now been made and deputies expect to make further arrests as the investigation continues.**
