Deputies arrest parole fugitive after Holts Summit patrol

OVERNIGHT HOLTS SUMMIT PATROL NETS WANTED FUGITIVE – PAROLE VIOLATIONS AND VEHICLE THEFT

Arrested person information:

Gregory Murphy, 32, of Holts Summit

Narrative:

On April 30, 2019, at approximately 2:47 AM, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit was patrolling the Holts Summit area.  During the patrols, the K9 unit conducted a vehicle stop in the 100 block of East Center Street in Holts Summit reference a traffic violation.

During the course of the traffic stop investigation, Gregory Murphy, 32, of Holts Summit was identified as a vehicle occupant.  Murphy attempted to deceive deputies by providing a false identity.  Deputies determined Murphy to be a wanted fugitive and parole violator.  Murphy was wanted in St. Charles County for Stealing a Motor Vehicle.  Further, a state DOC parole warrant had been issued for Murphy’s arrest.

Murphy was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held without bond.
