Deputies arrest New Bloomfield female for methamphetamine possession, controlled substance (pills) and firearm after traffic stop outside of Fulton

RURAL AREA PATROLS LEAD TO ARREST OF NEW BLOOMFIELD RESIDENT FOR METH

Arrested person information:

Elizabeth Smith, 17, of New Bloomfield

Narrative:

On August 1, 2019, at approximately 6:21 PM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling County Road 304.  During the course of the proactive patrol, the deputy conducted a traffic stop reference a vehicle registration violation.  A vehicle passenger was identified as Elizabeth Smith, 17, of New Bloomfield.  Smith was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, scheduled controlled substances (pills), and a firearm.

Smith was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail where she was booked/processed for probable cause offenses of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (two counts) and Unlawful Use of a Firearm.  Smith was later released on a summons pending Court appearance.

NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
