Deputies arrest Jefferson City man for burglary of a Hatton church during Monday morning investigation

HATTON CHURCH BURGLAR ARRESTED BY DEPUTIES DURING MONDAY MORNING INVESTIGATION

Arrested person information:

Valrey Johnson, 25, of Jefferson City

Narrative:

On March 11, 2019, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Valrey Johnson, 25, of Jefferson City with the felony offenses of Burglary and Stealing.  Johnson remains in the Callaway County Jail on a *court set* bond of $10,000.00.  The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office in Hatton.

At 6:29 AM, on the report date, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies initially responded to the 3600 block of State Road E in Hatton for a suspicious person complaint.  Upon deputies’ arrival in the area, the subject was not immediately located; however, deputies discovered a Hatton church had recently been burglarized.  As deputies continued their search of the area, they located Valrey Johnson, 25, of Jefferson City nearby.  Johnson was identified as the subject in question and was found in possession of stolen property from the church.

Johnson was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted deputies in Hatton.
