Deputies arrest Fulton man after 28 minute vehicle pursuit through Callaway County

On July 30, 2020, at approximately 5:13 PM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputy attempted to stop a gold Jeep SUV on County Road 217 for a speeding and a 28 minute vehicle pursuit ensued.

The pursuit traveled County Road 217, County Road 216, State Road HH, County Road 220, County Road 210, US Highway 54, County Road 114, County Road 121, County Road 118, County Road 117, State Road Z, County Road 115, County Road 108, County Road 123, State Road JJ, County Road 136.  Once nearing the Moore’s Mill Access for Auxvasse Creek on County Road 139 the driver attempted to enter the creek and the vehicle became disabled.

The driver, Austin Lomas, 22 of Fulton fled on foot through the creek and into a wooded area.  At approximately 9:57 PM deputies located Lomas hiding in a vehicle in the 4300 block of State Road JJ.

Lomas was subsequently transported to the Callaway County Jail where he is being held on a court ordered bond of $10,000 surety.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted with the pursuit, including both local troopers and their aircraft division.

At the time of Lomas’ arrest, he was under the supervision of the Department of Corrections – Board of Probation and Parole.
