Deputies arrest 11 between December 7 and December 17 for various felonies during patrol and investigations

Narrative: 

On December 17, 2020, at approximately 3:50 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to stop Derrick Burnett Jr., 37, of Columbia, MO on Interstate 70 at the State Road M/HH interchange.  In the hour before, Burnett had been involved in two separate vehicle pursuits involving the Columbia Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.  Upon deputies attempting to stop Burnett, he again fled and deputies gave chase.  Burnett subsequently traveled to Columbia, exited the interstate at the Lake of the Woods interchange, and crashed soon after.  Burnett was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Burnett was booked/processed for Felony Resisting Arrest in addition to a Missouri Department of Corrections (MDOC) parole violation warrant.  Burnett was later transferred to the custody of MDOC.

On December 17, 2020, at approximately 1:52 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a criminal investigation in the area of State Road J north of Millersburg.  During the course of the investigation, a stolen vehicle from Franklin County, MO was located.  Subsequently; Nichole Rosenberg, 32, of Columbia, MO was arrested for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st, in addition to Boone County felony warrants for Assault and Burglary.  Rosenberg remains in-custody at the Callaway County Jail.  Andrew Poelker, 36, of Columbia, MO was arrested for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st.  Poelker was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and later released with summons for Court appearance.  Justin Cody, 36, of Warrenton, MO was arrested for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle 1st.  Cody was transported to the Callaway County Jail, booked/processed, and later released with summons for Court appearance.

On December 14, 2020, at approximately 12:48 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies were proactively patrolling the Kingdom City area.  During the patrol, deputies stopped Jared Evans, 32, of Mexico, MO for a traffic violation.  Numerous felony level controlled substances including heroin and methamphetamine were located.  Evans and a vehicle occupant, Branden Collins, 43, of Wellsville, MO, were arrested for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Evans later posted bond and was released pending Court appearance.  Collins remains in-custody pending bond posting.

On December 11, 2020, at approximately 9:37 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a disturbance at a residence in Auxvasse.  During the course of the investigation, deputies subsequently located Joshua Gray, 37, of Auxvasse, MO.  Gray was wanted reference numerous felony warrants in Callaway and Boone counties, in addition to a Missouri Department of Corrections (MDOC) parole violation warrant.  Gray was transported to the Callaway County Jail and later transferred to the custody of MDOC.

On December 10, 2020, at approximately 10:34 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a disturbance involving weapons in the area of State Road AA near Holts Summit.  Subsequently, Samuel Knehans, 17, of Holts Summit, MO was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney later charged Knehans with Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  Knehans later posted bond and was released pending Court appearance.

On December 9, 2020, at approximately 5:51 AM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling the Fulton area.  During the patrol, the deputy attempted to stop Anthony Porter, 27, of Fulton, MO for a traffic violation.  Porter fled and a vehicle pursuit ended.  Porter later crashed and fled on foot while visibly possessing a firearm while fleeing.  After an extensive search by deputies with the assistance of Fulton Police Department officers, Porter was found hiding in the woods.  Porter was transported to the Callaway County Jail.  The Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Porter with felony offenses of Resisting Arrest, Armed Criminal Action, Tampering with Evidence, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Porter was later transferred to the Missouri Department of Corrections upon the issuance of a parole violation warrant.

On December 8, 2020, at approximately 2:08 AM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling the area of County Road 211.  During the course of the patrol, the deputy located a vehicle that was entered as stolen in Randolph County, MO.  The deputy subsequently stopped the vehicle and identified Amy Bowen, 43, of Salisbury, MO as a vehicle occupant.  Methamphetamine was subsequently located.  Bowen was arrested, transported to the Callaway County Jail, and booked/processed for Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Bowen was later released with summons for later Court appearance.

On December 7, 2020, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Joseph Hughes, 20, of Holts Summit, MO with the felony offense of Unlawful Use of a Weapon.  The charge is the result of a disturbance investigation conducted by Sheriff’s Office deputies in the Holts Summit area.  Hughes was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he remains in-custody without bond pending later Court bond review/setting.
