Columbia man arrested after Sheriff’s Office K9 unit investigates suspicious persons near Stephens

SHERIFF’S OFFICE DEPUTIES MAKE FELONY DRUG ARREST ALONG OLD HIGHWAY 40 NEAR STEPHENS

Arrested person information: 

Shaun Shannon, 43, of Columbia

Narrative: 

On January 6, 2018, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney charged Shaun Shannon, 43, of Columbia with FELONY Possession of a Controlled Substance (crack cocaine).  The charge was the result of a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigation conducted along Old Highway 40 near Stephens.

On that date, at approximately 2:08 AM, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit was patrolling the Stephens area.  During the patrol, the K9 unit came upon suspicious activity in the area; precisely, two subjects walking in the roadway.  One of the subjects was identified as Shaun Shannon, 43, of Columbia.  During the course of the investigation, Shannon was found to possess crack cocaine.

Shannon was arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Shannon later posted a court set bond of $4,500.00 and was released pending court appearance.
