Columbia kidnapping suspect arrested by deputies outside of Holts Summit

CALLAWAY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DEPUTIES LOCATE SUSPECT IN COLUMBIA ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION

Arrested person information: 

Anthony Todd Rowell, 47, of Holts Summit

Narrative: 

On January 29, 2018 at 5:21 PM, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office and the Holts Summit Police Department were requested to assist with an attempted kidnapping investigation in Columbia.  Assistance was requested in locating Anthony Todd Rowell, 47, of Holts Summit whom the Columbia Police Department had identified as a suspect.  Rowell was believed to possibly be in the Holts Summit area.  Deputies and officers conducted patrols throughout the night.

On this date, January 30, 2018 at 8:18 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Rowell at a residence just outside of Holts Summit.  Rowell was detained without incident and transported to the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office in Fulton.  There, he was later turned over to the custody of Columbia Police Department detectives.

As this investigation is being conducted by the Columbia Police Department, we are unable to provide any further details and further inquiry should be directed to the Columbia Police Department accordingly.
