Calwood fugitive arrested on multiple warrants

Joseph Atterberry, 39, Calwood area

Narrative: 

On August 22, 2017, at 11:56 p.m., Callaway County deputies arrested Joseph Atterberry, 39, of the Calwood area for felony Callaway County probation violation warrants – original charges of Felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.  At the time of Atteberry’s arrest, he was located in a vehicle during a traffic stop along County Road 123 near Branch Road.

Callaway County deputies had been searching for Atterberry during recent times and following leads in the Calwood area.  On August 9, 2017, Atterberry fled on-foot from Callaway County deputies and a Missouri Department of Conservation agent after being spotted along State Road JJ south of Calwood and was then not captured.

Atterberry was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he remains pending the posting of a $10,300.00 court ordered bond.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
