Callaway County Prosecutor charges two with Murder 1st after Sheriff’s Office homicide investigation near Columbia ** CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS **

TWO CHARGED WITH MURDER 1ST REFERENCE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION ON OLD HIGHWAY 40 NEAR THE BOONE COUNTY LINE —–SUSPECTS **NOT IN CUSTODY** AND CONSIDERED *ARMED AND DANGEROUS*

Ruben Corales Cabrera, 33, of Indianapolis IN

Emily Ricketts, 22, of Indianapolis, IN

Narrative:

Callaway County, MO Prosecuting Attorney Christopher W. Wilson has charged Ruben Corales Cabrera, 33, and Emily Ricketts, 22, both of Indianapolis, IN, with Murder in the First Degree.  Cabrera is also charged with Armed Criminal Action.

Neither Cabrera nor Ricketts are in-custody and both remain outstanding.  Both have ties to the Columbia, MO area and are considered **armed and dangerous. **

The aforementioned charges are reference the ongoing investigation into the murder of Lauro Garza-Perez in the 1500 block of Old Highway 40, directly near the Boone County line, in Callaway County, MO on January 6, 2019.

The Callaway County, MO Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation into this murder offense and has been assisted by the Boone County, MO Sheriff’s Office, the Columbia, MO Police Department, the Indianapolis, IN Police Department, and the United States Department of Homeland Security -Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

As the investigation is ongoing, no other details are currently being released.  Should details become available that can be disseminated, i.e. a fugitive vehicle description, such information will be shared in a supplementary media release.
