On February 18, 2018, Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney Christopher D. Leavell is now incarcerated in the Boone County Jail for unrelated offenses and will be returned to Callaway County at a later time.  Yancey was located by the Fulton Police Department, arrested, and later posted bond pending court appearance.  Carver is now incarcerated in the MO Department of Corrections for unrelated offenses and will be returned to Callaway County at a later time.  Smith was located by the Cole County Sheriff’s Office, arrested, and later posted bond pending court appearance.  Byrd is now incarcerated in the MO Department of Corrections for unrelated offenses and will be returned to Callaway County at a later time.  Hook was located by Court Marshals, arrested, and later posted bond pending court appearance.  Sims remains OUTSTANDING and is believed to possibly be in the Kansas City, MO area.  Sims is considered a fugitive from justice.

Pursuant to state law, the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office is tasked with maintaining the sex offender registry for the county and supervising registered offenders (to include inside municipalities).  On any given day, there are approximately 165 registered sex offenders throughout Callaway County.
