Boone County fugitive arrested after deputies execute search warrant, recovery stolen camper

DEPUTIES RECOVER STOLEN PROPERTY NEAR MILLERSBURG – BOONE COUNTY FUGITIVE ARRESTED

Arrested person information:

Samuel Smiley, 54, of Columbia

Narrative:

On December 17, 2018, at 2:38 PM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a Callaway County search warrant at a property in the 1700 block of County Road 340 near Millersburg, adjacent to the Boone County line.  The search warrant had been obtained as the result of an investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search warrant execution, deputies encountered Samuel Smiley, 54, of Columbia.  Smiley was wanted in Boone County for the felony offense of Forgery.  Smiley was arrested without incident.  Deputies subsequently recovered a stolen camper trailer from the property, which trailer had been stolen from Boone County and transported to Callaway County.

Smiley was transported to the Callaway County Jail where he was booked for Felony Receiving Stolen Property in addition to the Boone County forgery warrant.  Smiley is being held without bond pending a Court bond setting.
