Auxvasse man arrested for narcotics and firearm violations

Wesley Brown, 27, of Auxvasse

Narrative: 

On September 5, 2017 at 5:50 p.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was patrolling the Kingdom City area.  The deputy observed Wesley Brown, 27, of Auxvasse fail to stop for a traffic control device (red light) at the US Highway 54 and Interstate 70 interchange.  A traffic stop was subsequently conducted.

During the course of the traffic stop, The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted for the odor of narcotics in the vehicle.  Brown was found to possess methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.  Brown was subsequently arrested and transported to the Callaway County Jail for probable cause charges of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (possessing a firearm while in possession of a felony controlled substance), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Brown later posted a court set bond of $6,500.00 and was released pending court appearance.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
