Auxvasse man arrested after multiple residential Auxvasse burglaries within 24 hours

Devin Montcalm, 22, of Auxvasse

Narrative: 

On November 10, 2017 at 7:21 AM, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Devin Montcalm, 22, of Auxvasse at a residence in the 200 block of South Elm Street in Auxvasse.  Upon attempting to take Montcalm into custody, Montcalm resisted arrest.  Montcalm is being held in the Callaway County Jail for the following probable cause charges:

  • Felony Burglary 1st degree (four counts)
  • Felony Stealing (three counts)
  • Felony Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (two counts)
  • Felony Resisting Arrest
  • Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Misdemeanor Stealing

Montcalm is being held without bond pending a judge’s bond setting.

Montcalm’s arrest is the result of a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office investigation concerning the burglary of several residences in the Auxvasse / Hatton area on November 9, 2017 and November 10, 2017.  While deputies were searching the area for Montcalm, whom had been identified as a suspect, they found his abandoned vehicle on County Road 271.  Upon recovering the vehicle, articles of stolen property and narcotics were located.  Later, further items of stolen property were located at a location in Auxvasse.

The Auxvasse Police Department assisted with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges could be forthcoming.  NO FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
