Auxvasse man arrested for possession of cocaine after Audrain County K9 alerts on vehicle during traffic stop outside of Hatton

COUNTY ROAD PATROLS NEAR HATTON RESULT IN ANOTHER FELONY DRUG ARREST

Arrested person information:

Nicholas Brown, 30, of Auxvasse

Narrative:

On January 2, 2019, at 2:08 PM, a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy was proactively patrolling county roads in the far northwest area of the county.  During the patrol, the deputy stopped a vehicle near County Road 277 and County Road 282 in the Hatton area, close to the Audrain County line, for a registration violation.

During the course of the traffic stop investigation, a vehicle passenger was identified as Nicholas Brown, 30, of Auxvasse.  Brown was subsequently arrested for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (cocaine) and transported to the Callaway County Jail.  Brown later posted a *court set* bond of $4,500.00 and was released pending court appearance.

The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office K9 unit assisted with the traffic stop investigation and subsequent arrest.
