Auxvasse man arrested for Felony Domestic Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Tampering with Witness and Unlawful Use of a Weapon

Narrative:

On September 27, 2017, the Callaway County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Christopher Mears, 39, of Auxvasse with Felony Domestic Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Tampering with a Victim, Tampering with Evidence, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Mears remains incarcerated in the Callaway County Jail without bond, per a judge’s ruling.

The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office on September 26, 2017. On that date, deputies investigated a domestic disturbance involving weapons in the 5000 block of State Road E west of Auxvasse. Mears had left the area prior to deputy arrival.

On September 26, 2017, at approximately 6:15 p.m., a Callaway County Sheriff’s Office deputy located Mears operating a vehicle on US Highway 54 in Fulton. With the assistance of the Fulton Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle was stopped and Mears was taken into custody without incident.
